Prompt 1 [Oct. 4th, 2006|01:18 am]
Prompts for Creative Writers
[Current Location |Desk]
[emotion |blahblah]

Title: Fitful firelight
Rating: PG for some swearing
Warnings: Pixies
Critique: I'm easy, whatever you can be bothered with.

So I went and read the poem, and this was the line that grabbed me... and somehow I ended up writing this. I realise the ending is weak, but it was either this or sending them to fairyland, and that would take hours. And I have to sleep sometime.

Ok this is my frist time doing something like this but hey here goes:

Title: 'That Nice Place We Go To'
Rating: M?
Warnings: A Bit of gore
Desired Critique: As much as you can throw at me, but as many know I can not spell to save myself so excuse that please

And as a end note when I first started thinking about this the main image that came to my mind was the 'Footsteps of Angles' as some kind of massive torture machine

[emotion |stressedstressed]

Title: Footsteps of an Angel
Rating: G
Warnings: Fluffy. Perhaps too fluffy.
Desired Critique: Low. Vague, general critique only. Oh, and point out any spelling or grammatical errors.

Follow the fake cut

AN: By ME, all characters belong to ME, it's mine so deal with it. The title and inspiration is a poem by H.W. Longfellow. Go read the poem. It's awesome.

First Prompt [Oct. 3rd, 2006|05:22 pm]
Prompts for Creative Writers

[emotion |blahblah]

Hey everyone

There are a few of us now, and hopefully there'll be more in the next couple of weeks. For the time being I'll post the first prompt. You have two weeks to post something, be it one line or a few pages. Remember that you don't have to post anything you write, but it would be quite cool to hear whether or not people found them useful.

The first prompt is the title of a poem by H.W. Longfellow. You can use it however you want. The only requirement is that the prompt has inspired your story in some way. If it's really obscure, it'd be nice if you mentioned how you were inspired ;-)

The Footsteps of Angels

Happy writing.

Welcome [Sep. 27th, 2006|12:20 am]
Prompts for Creative Writers

Greetings all, I am jinx_victim, your friendly comm manager. Please bear with me, as I'm new to the whole community-running thing.

Basic details of the community are under User Info but I thought I'd better jot down a few rules about posting before I forget.

1) All submissions should be original short stories, prose, poetry etc. No fanfiction is allowed.

2) Please place all entries under an lj-cut, or link to your relevant journal entry. (a "fake cut")

3) When you post, please include:
Rating (G, PG, Total Smut, etc)
Desired level of critique (ie, say whether you want only general comments on your work, no comments at all, deep in-depth sort of stuff, harsh critique, etc.)

4) No outright flaming. If you don't like someone's story, that's fine, and if they want harsh critique you can tell them why you think it's badly done, but don't just say someone sucks. Negative critique should have some basis to it.

5) Please, please check your spelling and punctuation. I can't be having with netspeak in a community that's writing-based. If you're concerned that your stuff isn't up to scratch grammar-wise, get someone to beta your work.

Okay! Now that's done I can get back to my assignment. (groan. Kill me now.)

Have fun
